Training Webinar - Multiplexed, Whole-Genome Genotyping
GENSeminars hosts this online real-time training and web conference presentation. It will focus on multiplexed whole-genome assays for studying genetic variation relevant to pharmacogenomic and disease-association research. It will reference to the International HapMap Project.
The International HapMap Project will soon generate high-resolution maps of common genetic variation in the human genome. Effective use of this haplotype information in linkage disequilibrium (LD)-based pharmacogenomic and disease-association studies will require accurate and cost-effective means of genotyping hundreds of thousands of SNPs in large numbers of samples.
The experimental value of whole-genome genotyping approaches will be realized to the extent that SNP selection and multiplex levels are not constrained by assay limitation, which in turn will permit previously unavailable scientific query in discovery research. |
