Elluminate, Inc., a provider of live eLearning and Web collaboration solutions for the real-time organization, announced today that it will provide a live broadcast of the Moodlemoot New England Conference for remote participants using Elluminate Live!®, the company's flagship eLearning and Web conferencing product.
Elluminate will provide a free worldwide simulcast, during which current and prospective Moodle users will be able to hear keynote addresses and a selection of concurrent sessions from the conference, held June 26-28 at the Governor Dummer Academy in Byfield, Massachusetts.
The Moodlemoot New England Conference was developed in response to increasing interest in Moodle, an open-source Course Management System used by educators and administrators to create online curricula.
Designed upon social constructionist pedagogy and supportive of effective learning environments, Moodle is free to the public for download and use. The system is available in 70 different languages and currently has 3,422 registered sites in 114 countries. |

eSATS, a 501©(3) organization composed of education stakeholders and civic entrepreneurs, has announced that Arizona Senate President Ken Bennett's Arizona Senate Bill 1512, the elearning centered schools bill, has been signed into law by Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano.
SB1512 is the key piece of legislation to begin Arizona’s statewide transformation of K-12 education through eLearning.
The new law paves the way for a Digital Curriculum Institute, a statewide cadre of Educational Technologists, an eLearning Teacher Professional Development and Education Institute, a statewide Data Warehouse, full deployment of statewide broadband access, mentor teachers, and tech support on every campus.
