Join Volunteer State Community College & Horizon Wimba in this "insiders secrets" program on distance education on September 28, 2004 at 4:00pm EST.

A challenge for distance students is a sense of engagement with and between students and/or instructors. At VSCC, faculty members become more engaged in the communication process to both increase and enhance student engagement in courses.

Planning for enhancements of courses centered around (1) stages of faculty participation (2) student instruction evaluation and course standards, and (3) the development of a course revision and peer review process to enhance student engagement in Distance courses.

Effective Mathematics Instruction for Students with Special Needs Training Webinar

The Access Center and Dr. David Allsopp will facilitate this training webinar on September 7, 2004 from 2 to 3 pm Eastern Time.

He will share resources and tools that educators can use to ensure math content is consistent with the learning needs of students with disabilities. He will also provide examples of classroom and school district conditions that facilitate math achievement for students with disabilities.
