Administrators, teachers and students interested in learning how to use their palmOne(TM) handheld computers have a new resource at their disposal -- a website for online basic training -- palmOne, Inc. (Nasdaq: PLMO) announced.
The palmOne Online Basics free website, can be accessed from palmOne's education page, now offers around the clock access to topics that cover fundamental uses of the personal information management ( PIM ) applications. "How to" modules in the use of the Calendar, Date Book, Memo Pad, Note Pad, HotSync( R ) operation, beaming and more are covered in short segments that feature a "look, listen and learn" format aimed at both visual and auditory learners. Segments include voice instructions and short training movies.
The palmOne Online Basics website is part of palmOne's ongoing investment in programs that offer long-term benefits to teachers and students and support for a fast-growing market.
According to IDC, a global research firm, K-12 public schools are expected to spend nearly $300 million on handhelds by the 2005/2006 school year.
