Phoenix, AZ - Legislators in the State of Arizona are weighing a bill that would create a statewide budget and organization to move Arizona to the forefront of distance learning and elearning in the United States, reports the Arizona Republic.Senate Bill 1181 is the idea of Ted Kraver, a private citizen and deeply involved high technology consultant. The bill has gained early bipartisan support from both sides of the political aisle.
While the usual group of naysayers are already picking the bill and concept apart, Arizona is struggling to gain an identity in the high tech universe in America.
Arizona trails more than 25 states in total venture capital investment, is finally emerging into one new field - biotech - and has an avid and passionate community of tech leaders who are pressing to move any and all areas of the State forward into more leadership positions.
We will be watching these developments closely and report our findings as the Bill moves into or out of Senate committees.
