PCI-to-PCI Bridging Techniques to Expand Interoperability Training Web cast

This Web cast is for engineers who are developing systems that need to interface with the full spectrum of legacy PCI and PCI-X devices, supporting old 32-bit add-in cards and/or system boards, up to PCI-X 133MHz and everything in between, including 64 bit/66 MHz PCI.

Simple design techniques using the broad-compatibility FastLane PCI-to-PCI bridges from PLX are examined in detail during this online training program.

Some of the common-faced PCI issues that will be examined in this online training webcast:

  1. Sources of incompatibility with legacy cards and systems
  2. Designing new add-in cards to work with legacy systems
  3. Supporting legacy add-in cards in new systems
  4. Independent primary and secondary bus clocking (asynchronous bridging)
  5. Logic level translation, Vio issues
  6. Bridging into a different bus width
  7. Upgrading add-in cards to PCI 64/66 and PCI-X
