Florham Park, N.J. - Global Crossing (Nasdaq: GLBC) will provide uniform, high-quality conference calling service to Sun Microsystems (Nasdaq: SUNW) employees throughout Asia Pacific, Europe and the Middle East. Sun employees in each country can now join audio conferences through a convenient international toll-free access number. The conference calling solution helps Sun's IT group to better manage their conference calling costs.

Global Crossing is helping Sun roll out a uniform and convenient conference calling solution to its international employees. As part of a three-year contract signed last month, Global Crossing is supplying its Ready-Access® Global 800 solution to Sun, enabling Sun to reach all its employees in 33 countries in Asia, the Pacific, Europe and the Middle East.

"Our culture depends on telecommuting and mobility," said Pradeep Saxena, a manager in IT operations for Sun Microsystems.

"As an organization with employees around the world, we were looking for a uniform 'touch and feel' - a global solution for local, regional and global audio conference calls that would enable our work groups to collaborate anytime, anywhere without having to memorize numerous dial-in numbers in the different countries and different dial pad commands. With Global Crossing's Ready-Access, Sun employees now share the same user experience and benefit from the same high-quality audio conference calling service, whether they are in Japan, London, Seoul or Bangalore."

"Sun, along with many other Fortune 1000 companies, has entrusted their conference calling needs to Global Crossing," commented John Legere, Global Crossing's CEO. "Conference calling is an important part of our corporate strategy and a showcase example of how we can assist enterprises with their collaboration needs on a global scale."

Now, chairpersons and participants can cost-effectively join a single conference call by dialing the international toll-free access number for their country. The Global 800 service is available in 35 countries. By leveraging its world-class VoIP backbone and extensive network reach, Global Crossing has also enabled Sun to expand audio conference calling services in the Asia Pacific region to Korea, India, Thailand and Malaysia. Sun has setup an abbreviated dial plan on its internal phone systems that enables employees to reach Global Crossing's audio conference calling service by dialing the same five digits from anywhere in the world.

Sun has a long and successful record as an innovator, having developed products and services ranging from smart cards to supercomputers, and Java technology to the Solaris operating system that solves complex network computing problems for governments, enterprises and service providers.

"With Ready-Access, Sun has implemented an audio conference calling service that is easily and widely accessible," said Neil Barua, global vice president of collaboration services for Global Crossing. "With our global IP network, Global Crossing has the scope and scale to support a geographically dispersed company like Sun, offering employees a convenient and simple way to communicate using our Ready-Access Global 800 service."

A full service conference calling provider with 25 years of cumulative experience, Global Crossing delivers integrated, customized, and managed collaboration products including audio, video and Web conferencing, to address customers' network and real-time collaboration needs.

Global Crossing (Nasdaq: GLBC) provides conference calling, web conferencing and other telecommunications solutions over the world's first integrated global IP-based network. Its core network connects more than 300 cities and 30 countries worldwide, and delivers conference calling and other telecommunications services to more than 500 major cities, 50 countries and 6 continents around the globe. The company's global sales and support model matches the network footprint and, like the network, delivers a consistent customer experience worldwide.
