Persony CEO Interviewed on Web Conferencing for the Mass Market
Web Conferencing Section - Web Conferencing Category
Saturday, 18 June 2005
Eric Chen, Persony’s founder and CEO, was interviewed on Inside Digital Media by the program host, Phil Leigh, to discuss the “smart-client” technology that Persony has developed to allow anyone to use a standard Web server to host Web conferencing. The new technology dramatically reduces the cost of Web conferencing and brings online collaboration to small business, SOHO and individual users.

The Web conference was recorded using Persony VShow, an inexpensive desktop program a meeting host uses to conduct online meetings. The recording includes a slide-show presentation, a Web site tour, and voice-over conversation that can be seen and heard by visiting www.insidedigitalmedia.com and clicking on the interview dated June 15, 2005. The recording is also available on the Persony Web site by visiting www.persony.com/demo?p=insidedigital. Inside Digital Media presents guests who are executives and thought leaders in the digital media sector.

“The smart-client technology is a disruptive solution,” says Eric Chen. “It has the potential of turning any ISP or Web hosting company into a Web conferencing service provider.” The technology may create a “profound” change to the industry, according to Phil Leigh.

About Persony, Inc. Persony's mission is to bring enterprise level applications, such as online collaboration and Web conferencing to the masses by leveraging the ubiquity of Web servers and hosting service providers. Persony's patent-pending "smart-client" technology puts the intelligence of an enterprise application on the client side and uses standard Web servers to connect remote users. Persony's solution can be deployed anywhere and at a fraction of the cost of other solutions. The smart-client approach is a disruptive technology that allows individuals and small businesses to afford applications that were once only available to larger corporations.
