Praising its rapid growth, simplicity, security and functionality, industry analyst firm Frost & Sullivan honored Citrix(R) GoToMeeting(TM) Web conferencing from Citrix Systems, Inc. GoToMeeting won the 2005 Award for Best New Web Conferencing Service. The firm, a leader in consulting on emerging high-technology and industrial markets, cited the compelling value proposition of GoToMeeting and GoToMeeting Corporate, which offer ease of use and affordable pricing through a convenient, hosted service or on-demand model. According to Frost & Sullivan, Web conferencing services like GoToMeeting are transforming the way companies do business and the way individuals communicate. The 2005 Best New Web Conferencing Service Award was given to GoToMeeting based on its demonstrated excellence in developing and introducing a new class of service. Criteria used to determine the Award winner included: significance and competitive advantage of the new service, innovation in technology and pricing, pace of adoption, and number of competitors.
"Web conferencing and collaboration are playing a strong and growing role in helping companies dramatically improve management of their cross-enterprise value-chain processes," said Roopam Jain, senior analyst at Frost & Sullivan. "By providing access to a set of Web applications that allow enterprises to share business processes, workflow and data with internal teams and external partners and customers, Web conferencing is increasingly enabling collaborative commerce to accelerate speed and effectiveness of business decisions."
The success of this trend depends upon moving beyond a simple meeting environment to a high level of collaboration. GoToMeeting offers a user-friendly interface and feature set. While it offers a simple and affordable Web conferencing solution, GoToMeeting includes all the core features: desktop screen-sharing, chat functionality, free bundled audio service, integration with Microsoft(R) Outlook, instant messaging, and passing control of the desktop to others. The ability to incorporate graphical and audio components into application sharing sets the stage for replacing face-to-face meetings with Web meetings.
"We set out to help transform how individuals and businesses meet and collaborate with real-time solutions that offer simplicity, security and a flat-fee, All You Can Meet(TM) pricing model," said Brett Caine, president, Citrix Online Division. "Almost a year later, realizing robust growth momentum, we are honored to be recognized by Frost & Sullivan for the 2005 Best New Web Conferencing Service Award."
The firm's market research indicates the Web conferencing market is expected to grow at a rate of 27.4 percent annually between 2004 and 2011, to a forecasted size of $3.1 billion in 2011.
"We're bullish on the hosted Web conferencing model," said Jain. On-demand Web conferencing services represented more than 75 percent of the revenues in 2004. "Because they're easy to extend, flexible, and don't require time-intensive set-up and management processes, these services will continue to be the primary way in which companies use Web conferencing."
Complementing its rich feature set, GoToMeeting offers a "Simpler is Better" approach: a pricing structure that provides unlimited meetings ("All You can Meet") for a flat fee; a user-friendly interface; and a hosted service model that takes the effort out of implementing, maintaining and scaling a conferencing solution.
Addressing the growing demand for a greater level of security and control for Web conferencing services , GoToMeeting uses industry-standard SSL and U.S. government-standard 128-bit AES encryption to ensure that login information and meeting sessions are always secure. The service also allows meeting organizers to grant and revoke attendee privileges before or during a meeting session.
