TeleWriter Adds In-Band Bridged Audio & Web Conferencing
Web Collaboration Section - Web Collaboration Category
Tuesday, 08 November 2005
TeleWriter Corporation, a subsidiary of Communications Research, Inc. (OTCBB:CRHI) Mahwah, NJ, announced they have concluded testing of adding in-band bridged telephone to their TeleWRITER-AGS (Advanced Graphic System), to provide audio graphic computing collaboration and web conferencing with broadband and dial-up IP connections in a contiguous conference.

TeleWRITER has required an external audio bridge for multipoint Audio Graphic conferences or a standards compliant H323 bridge for Multimedia calls. This new capability allows end users in remote areas of foreign countries without the ability to get high speed Internet service, to participate in collaborative sessions using only a dial-up Internet connection. The new feature was successfully tested with superior audio quality as low as 19.2 baud intermixed with high speed broadband and DSL in a collaborative, interactive work session. Since audio graphic conferencing remains the largest revenue producer in teleconferencing today, the company feels confident it will reinforce their position as a technology leader.

The development was undertaken on the strength of the initial order estimated to be over $150,000 for the first phase roll-out to meet a specific client's need for a global online training program. Using any other solution with reoccurring use and connection charges would be cost prohibitive for end users. The company will investigate other commercial applications for the technology in audio telephony, as well as adding the coding for highly optimized ITU (International Telecommunications Union) H.264, in-band, low bit rate video streams.

The new technology will be demonstrated publicly for the first time at the Federal Section 508 Coordinators Training Conference to be held in Gettysburg, PA, at the Eisenhower Inn and Conference Center on Thursday, December 8, 2005. Section 508 requires that Federal Agencies' electronic and information technology is accessible to people with disabilities. The Section 508 Coordinators coordinate and implement Accessibility in their respective agencies. The organization recognizes Accessible Video and Multimedia products enhance training and other related programs in these agencies.

TeleWRITER-AGS (Advanced Graphics System) software is the oldest and most comprehensive audio and graphic software available today, and it essentially started and defined the market of collaborative web computing and Web Conferencing we know today. Clients use the product to capture, store, transmit, retrieve and annotate high resolution graphics, text or video images, in real-time, allowing them to easily switch from an interactive mode to application sharing and collaboration for the shared use of most software applications, all over IP networks and the Internet.

To simplify, and automate, course development and meeting graphic automation, TeleWRITER-AGS provides a powerful Multimedia Authoring tool and incorporates a Digital Streaming Recorder to enable the end-user to record the meeting proceedings or distant learning class. A simple editor is included to clean up the session prior to authoring to DVD or uploading to a Web Server or Library Archive System. Recently TeleWRITER was honored at the TechLearn show in Las Vegas, NV as Best of Show in the category of Web Conferencing and Computing Collaboration. The Market-research firm of Frost & Sullivan recently released a report forecasting growth in the Web conferencing services industry from $567.1 million in 2004 to $3.1 billion in 2011.
