Former WebEx Executive to Drive Web Conferencing Growth in European Markets

Enterprise web conferencing and web collaboration will come of age in 2006 driven by the ability to halve costs while at the same time integrating voice, video and web conferencing in a web interface. This is the view of Tony Gasson, the newly appointed Vice President, EMEA, of Interwise, Inc., a global provider of web conferencing and collaboration technologies.

“Interwise is redefining the web conferencing market by replacing unpredictable audio and web conferencing costs with a complete solution that can be deployed as broadly and economically and simply as email,” said Tony Gasson, Vice President, EMEA, Interwise.

Gasson joined Interwise from WebEx, where under his leadership as Vice President and General Manager, EMEA, the European market and business for WebEx tripled its revenues between 2002 and 2005.

Gasson believes that multimedia web conferencing solutions comprising audio telephony – charged on a per connection and per minute basis – overlaid with web conferencing – charged on a subscription basis – are far too cumbersome and ultimately too costly for enterprise organizations.

Interwise’s fixed price unlimited usage business model and enterprise-class technology combine to make it easy for companies to replace multiple web conferencing and web collaboration products with a single, integrated solution that can reduce overall conferencing expenses by up to 50 per cent.

Prior to joining WebEx, Gasson spent eight years from 1994 to 2002 with the video conferencing leader PictureTel Corporation where, in addition to growing its core business, he also launched one of the industry’s first web conferencing businesses as a PictureTel subsidiary.

Interwise has published a guide to enterprise web conferencing and web collaboration conferencing describing both the user and cost benefits of enterprise web conferencing. If you would like to receive a copy please email epanzner@rainierpr.co.uk.
