The U.S. Green Building Council has launched an online training course designed to educate building industry professionals about its LEED Professional Accreditation requirements. The three-hour program, Essentials of LEED Professional Accreditation, includes selected case studies, interactive learning exercises, and a practice exam. USGBC partnered with Turner Construction to produce the course. The interactive online training course follows the Sienna Hills Library Project team as they delve into LEED credit categories and prerequisites. Divided into seven lessons, Essentials covers related topics including the rating system, coordinating a project during design and construction phases, managing the certification process, and meeting project requirements.
The course is designed to help participants understand the requirements for achieving LEED accreditation and the certification process. LEED Accreditation enables professionals to understand integrated design and green building practices and principles according to USGBC guidelines and gives them the knowledge to steward a building project worthy of LEED certification. The course is also informative for professionals new to green building or who wish to learn more about sustainable design and construction and the LEED rating process.
The fee for this course, which can be accessed through the USGBC Web site, is $150 for members and $200 for non-members. After purchase, the online training course is accessible for 60 days, which gives students plenty of time to complete the program. Visit www.usgbc.org for more information. |
