Kiran Bedi opens distance education center at Amritsar, India Jail |

Magsaysay award winner Kiran Bedi inaugurated a distance education center at the Central Jail here today. The center has been set up by the Guru Nanak Dev University.
"This university has taken the initiative to bring jail reforms and educate prisoners by establishing the education center," said Bedi. "The university has done dynamic service to the society," said bedi, who also appreciated the efforts of Vice Chancellor S.P. Singh. "The jail inmates should take maximum benefit of this center and start a new life after completing their sentence," she said. |
