i-SAFE Inc., a leader in Internet safety education, today introduces the Virtual Online Training Academy -- live Internet safety instruction led by an i-SAFE trainer on the Web.
i-SAFE's renowned lessons are available to educators, parents, students, and the community from anywhere through any computer with Internet access. The first virtual online training will be held for educators on July 11, 2006.
The Virtual Online Training Academy allows participants to be actively involved in i-SAFE's instruction. Attendees are able to ask questions, hear the questions others ask, and get a live answer. They can engage interactively in discussions, privately text-message the instructor, or publicly text-message the group.
In addition, various icons are available to use during the presentation. For example: Users can raise a hand to make a comment or ask the facilitator to slow down or speed up. Virtual online training is available with lessons specifically geared for parents, students, educators, law enforcement, and adults 50 and older. Educators can become certified to train other educators; parents can learn how to educate other parents through the i-PARENT program; and students can learn how to educate other students through the i-MENTOR program.
The academy will also include specialized sessions for school administrators and service-learning educators, and will cover topics on emerging cyber-bullying issues and the latest on social-networking sites.
After completing the training, participants are equipped with the tools necessary to teach others about Internet safety. To view the Virtual Online Training Academy offerings or register, visit http://vta.isafe.org. |
